This semester, I was looking forward to some subjects like script writing, unfortunately they were not what I expected, to my surprise one of the subjects that went unnoticed the most was my attention and has been so far one of the most enriching.   C ritical theories is a subject that we share together with the career of journalism, is based mainly on the study of different schools and currents of thought. These currents, in turn, are mainly focused on critical thinking towards the concepts of modernity, art and the media, as well as industries that have taken a place at the top of the culture and manage to polarize the contents. I know, i know… another film student who feels inspired by Tarantino, it is a almost a cliché… but, we must be honest, he is amazing! Quentin Jerome Tarantino is an american director, productor, screenwritter   and actor, and nowadays is a pop culture icon, being one of the most famous directors of all times.   Born in tenesse and raised in L.A. he is well known for never take cinema studies, he worked in the video-club     “video archives” where he watch films all day. His first movie was “reservoir dogs” a humble independent film which achieve an unespected succesfull, soon he was recording movies like “pulp fiction” and later “kill bill”. His movie style is inspired by the kung fu and westerns movies, also including a lot of anothers movie genres. Why this director is so attractive to viewers? I believe that his film style, which mix a story with well known elements, but with a personal, fearless and innovative touch makes feel us in a   confortable place...

 There was a time, a chaotic era, called the decade of the 90s. at this time there was a little boy who enjoyed watching movies and cartoons, and one of his favorites ones was “GARGOYLES”, a cartoon about a group of gargoyles came from the medieval times, frozen in cold stone by a thousand years, become to life to this time and wake up in NY. This was a complex series, about heroes, brotherhood and loyalty. An amazing soundtrack, beautiful art, with a big content of mythology and history. This series show me a kind a story that I will love until now (like Vikings or Game of thrones) put together drama, dark characters without fear to show it to a kid, because they not stupid. This series, like many others put the bases to the filmmaker that I want to become, I think that nobody grew up, we just forget that we are children.    

The boy in this picture seems very distant and very close at the same time, it's me, only three years ago. I had left my old life and decided to take a trip with my two best friends, we headed south, I had very little money in my pockets, but I was excited, the only important thing was to live that adventure, maybe the last one we lived together. My awesome Motorcycle! It is a Renegade Sport 200, a really good machine, I bought it to a friend around two years ago; It is powerful and fast, I can go at 110 km/h without problems! I really love it.   I used it to go anywhere when I was in countryside because the transport there is not good.   I love to travel and take long road trips, like going to the Pichilemu Beach or the Rapel Lake, it`s a really cheap way to travel, I like listen music while drive by the road, you can feel the energy of the engine and his sound. I can`t have it here where I`m living because I don`t have space, I really miss it, I learned a lot of things of mechanical since I have it, like changing the oil or fixing it, It is a really fun piece of technology .
